Invites Jackling To ^Jesse James”jDaniel C. Jackling, San Francisco multi-millionaire copper' king, former Pettis countian, has replied interestingly to a telegraphic invitation extended him by Ed Mater, Liberty theatremanager, to witness the Jesse James picture here Monday afternoon. Mr. Mater wired Mr. Jackling and his party asking them to be his guests on this occasion, as it was reported they would be in Sedalia that day, The mesage was delivered to Mr. Jarkling at the Kitz-Carl-ton hotel, New York City. The answer, a letter from Jackling’? secretary, reads:“Mr. Jackling has asked me to say, in reply to your telegram of yesterday, that he is not sure he will be able to accept your invitation to see the moving picture entitled “Jesse Janies.” In the first place, it is not certain he will stop in Sedalia. That will depend upon the weather; and if he does, he will spend a considerable part of the day taking an automobile trip to the neighborhood of his early boyhood in the vicinity of Beaman. He would like very much to see the picture as he remembers from hearsay something of the part Sedalia had in the history portrayed in the production to which you refer. Mr. Jackling, when he attended the Normal School at Warrensburg in 1888, boarded with a nephew of Jesse James. A little later he knew Frank Janies when the latter was working in a mercantile establishment at Nevada, Mo., and later still, nearly twenty years ago, he met a grandnephew of Jesse Janies bearing the same name, while the latter was stationed at a military camp near Deming, New Mexico.”
