Miss Freda Hildabrand and Mr. Henry Tragesser were united in marriage at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the German Lutheran parsonage in Sioux City. They returned home the following day and Wednesday afternoon a reception was held at the home of the bride's mother which was attended by a number of friendsand neighbors.The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Minnie Meins and came from Germany with the family about a year ago, since which time she has resided on a farm in Washington township. The bridegroom, who is best known as “Shorty” Tragesser, has been a resi^ dent of Washington township for nearly twenty-five years, during which time he and his brother have kept bachelor quarters and operated their farm. It was believed by his many friends that Cupid had long ago given up the’ attempt to pierce “Shorty’s” heart with a dart from his bow, but Cupid, it seems, is a tireless little match maker and has been unusually busy in Washington township the past year. It seems especially fitting that this little romance should have culminated on St. Valentine's Day. The happy couple will make their home on the Tragesser farm. The Independent joins the many friends of the couple in extending heartiest congratulations.
