Wlfa---KELLE R—BAN WARTThe marriage of Miss Esther Keller and Mr. Walter J. Ban-wart was solemnized at Algona on Thursday, February 8, at 1:30 p. m. They were attended by Mr, John Keller and Miss Katie Ban-wart, brother anu sister of the bride and groopi. After the ceremony, they returned to the home of the bride’s parents where a delicious two-course dinner was served to the immediate relatives.The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Keller, who live east of town. She is very well known in this vicinity and all who know her speak highly of her. The past year she has been a very efficient waitress at the Golden Rule Cafe.The groom is the second son of Dan Ban wart, west of town. He is industrious and honest and very well thought of by all who know him.The newly weds left Saturday morning on their wedding trip to Lamar, Mo. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C. 0. Fish and Leo Frieden.‘ They will be at home after March 1st on the Dr. P. O. The color of their playing jerseys is old gold with black numbers and lettering.WEST BEND West Bend has won nine games and lost eight. The only team in the Little Nine they have met is Bode, who defeated them twice. They were runners-up in the Palo Alto county tournament last week. You can never tell in advance what this team will do.The teams which did not send in reports — Humboldt, Bode and LuVerne—all have good records. WB.i-West Bend Takes Second inCounty TournamentThe boys’ basket ball team of the local high school took second place in the county tournament held at Emmetsburg Friday and Saturday. They defeated Ayrshire in their first game 34 to 29. Ruthven was their second opponent and West Bend won 25 to 22, The championship game was played between the Graettinger and West Bend teams. Graettinger showed too much speed and easily won the game 34 to 12. WBJ-Showered Miss Esther Keller A miscellaneous prenuptial shower, sponsored by Mrs, P, O. Dorweller and Miss Esther An-llker, was held at the Dorweller home on Feb. 2, The bride-to-be received many beautiful and useful presents. Following a very enjoyable evening at different games, refreshments were served.
