Douglnes-Fltzpatrlck.I We clip from the MiuUmhi Madisonian the following: account of a pleasing so-j cial event which occurred in that city on . Tuesday last, in which an old Coweta [ boy figured with more or less promt nonce, and, as usual, carried olT the prize. The affair in question is thus described by the Madisonian:Tuesday morning last, at the home of the bride in this place, ltov. J. X. Snow, of Rutledge, officiating, Mr. Albert 1C. Douglass was married to Miss Annie Fitzpatrick, both of this placo. It was a quiet homo wedding, there being present only a few relatives and invited friends. Thus were consummated the uuptials of two of our most worthy and popular young people.The bride, Miss Annie Fitzpatrick, belongs to one of the best and most highly-esteemed families in Morgan county—a family that has contributed largely to Morgan county’s history. The brido is ono of our most popular young ladies,I and has many warm and sincere friends here. Stereotyped expressions have long Binco lost their force, and wo will not use them hero. There is no one who knowB Miss Fitzpatrick well that does not admire her for her gentlonoss, her kindness of heart, and her sweet disposition. Along with this comes the downing attribute of young womanhood —a pretty Christian life and character. Endowed with all these and other on nohling traits, she is well suited for the companionship of the man of her choice —sharing with him life’s happiness and joys, and sympathizing wit.li and on-oournging him amid itB trials and misfortunes, as the tender vino holds tlrm and stendilly during the storm the stately oak around which it is entwined. Well may the groom he proud of the heart and hand that he has wou.Mr. Domlass came to Madison from Newnan about six years ago. Ho is a na'ive of Coweta county, whoro ho has splendid and highly-esteemed connections. During his residence here he lias been bookkeeper and general manager of the large grocery firm of Mr. .John Orr. By his integrity, close application and ability he has become one of our most prominent and highly respected young business men. Ho is a boy of strong character and genuine worth, and has many good friends in this place, won by his upright uouduct, his gentlemanly demeanor and the high piano upon which he conducts himself, socially and morally. Many there are who will congratulate him and his bride upon this, their wedding occasion, and wish for them a long, useful and happy life.Immediately after the ceremony, amid a shower of rice and good wishes, the bridal couple hoarded the 10:12 train for Atlanta, where they were tendered an elegant reception at the home of the groom’s aunt the following evening. From thence, on Wednesday morning, they went to the groom’s homo in Coweta county, where they will sojourn for about ten days, before returning to Madison to make it their future home. Tlmy will occupy a suite of rooms at Mr. John Orr’s handsome residence on South Main street.
