Mr. and Mrs. Davis 1955Mr. and Mrs. Davis 2005Davis/50LA PORTE CITY — Shannon and Marilyn Davis will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. next Sunday at the VFW Hall in La Porte City hosted by their children and spouses.Shannon Davis and Marilyn Bonorden were married Feb. 18, 1955.Mr. Davis is retired from John Deere, and Mrs. Davis is retired from La Porte City Schools.They have six children, Ralette and Brian Card, Sheri and James Steffen, Penny Grigg, Scott and Rebecca Davis, Tony and Tara Davis and Jeff Davis. There are 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.No gifts are requested, and no invitations are being sent
