Wedding announcementFRYZA —HOLMESSt. Bartholomew Anglican Church of Winnipeg, Manitoba was the setting for a double ring ceremony on September 30, 1989 when Carla Dawn, eldest daughter of Mrs. Beatrice Holmes and the late Gordon Holmes, and Robert Charles, eldest son of Charles and Mae Fryza, exchanged marriage vows. The Reverend William Vincent performed the ceremony.Carla was a beautiful bride who wore an imported satin gown. The Renaissance style sleeve featured satin puff with a long tapered illusion. Enhancing the Alencon laced fitted bodice was a round scooped neck in front es well as the back with the finishing touch of a satin bow at the back of the dress. Her chapel length train was scattered with Shissli embroidery and bordered by scalloped lace which flowed elegantly down the aisle. For that finished look, she word a tiara with a crystaline veil edged in irridiscent sequins topped with a large puff. She carried an arm bouquet of sonia roses accented with greenery and babv’s breath.The bride’s attendants were Crystal Holmes, sister of the bride, as Maid of Honour, Laurie Holmes, sister-in-law of the bride and Elinor Friesen, friend of the bride as Bridesmaids. They wore identical street length dresses of teal green satin accented with a bow in the back to match the bride. They carried arm bouquets of sonia roses and white carnations. Flower Girl was Erica Holmes, niece of the bride. She wore a white cotton dress accented with teal green ribbon and bows. She carried a flower basket of silk flowers.The groom wore a black tuxedo which was accented with flecks of blue, accompanied with a black bow tie and cummerbund. His boutonniere was a sonia rose identical to those of the bride’s bouquet.The groom was accompanied by his brother Andrew Fryza as Best Man, and Gordon Bracken and Dale Taylor, friends of the groom, as Groomsmen. They wore identical black tuxedos with teal green satin bow ties md cummerbunds to coordinate vith the bride’s attendants.The Mother of the Bride :hose a cocktail length dress hat was ivory in color. Mother )f the Groom chose a powder slue street length dress. A cordage of alstromeria com-)lemented their dresses.Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall in St. Norbert. The bridal table was tastefully decorated with teal green skirting matching the bridesmaids dresses. The 8u®st book table was attended by Evelyn Fryza, sister of the groom and Loralyn Holmes, sister-in-law of the bride.Warren Holmes, brother of the bride, asked the Blessing. Randy Pawich, cousin of the bride, made the toast to the bride. The wedding cake, which was accented with a flowing fountain, was cut at the close of the reception. The wedding dance followed the reception with music provided by the band “Heartbreakers.”Out of town guests were from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Detroit, Michigan and various points throughout Manitoba.
