Lela Ruth ColemanFuneral Services for Lela Ruth Coleman will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Velasco Baptist Church, 800 N Avenue F, in Freeport, Texas.Burial will follow at North Creek Cemetery in Centerville, Texas.Lela was born in Ninevah, Texas on July 13, 1919. She was 90 years old and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 6,2010.She married in 1938 to Nathan Coleman. In 1941, they moved to Freeport, Texas. She and Nathan were married 62 years before he died in June 2000. They were charter members at Velasco Baptist Church in Freeport, Texas. She strongly believed in prayer and wanted everyone to come to know Jesus Christ. She loved her family and her Lord.She was preceded indeath by her parents; her beloved husband, Nathan B. Coleman; her son, Ronald Nathan Coleman; and her brother, Joe Earl Danford.She is survived by her grandchildren, Darrell Coleman of Brazoria, Elaine Wilson Penick of La Marque, and Ronald Nathan Coleman Jr. of Katy; six great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Betty Danford of Lake Jackson.Arrangements by Lakewood Funeral Home of Lake Jackson, Texas.
