WHITING, Feb. 8.—A cablegram was received here by Mr. and Mrs. William Soroka, 1140 Superior avenue, from their son, George, telling of his marriage to Miss Eleanor Olivia Wade, of New Orleans, at Maracaibo, Venezuela, South America.The marriage ceremony was performed Tuesday at a Catholic church. George Soroka has been in South America for over a year where he was sent by the Standard Oil company of Indiana in company with many other Whitingites. The former Miss Wade has also been in South America for over a year. Her brother is chief engineer on the Island of Aruba in Venezuela, where the Standard Oil company of Indiana has its Pan-American interests. Her father is a doctor. Before being sent to South America, young Soroka, for many years, was employed in the main office 6f the Standard Oil company plant in Whiting. ■,Tuesday's marriage ceremony was the culmination of a romance which began approximately one year .ago, when the two young people met in South America. George Soroka has many friends in Whiting, who will bo interested to hear of his marriage and who wish the young couple many years of happiness.I -
