Methodist Dinner Honors Rev. and Mrs.W. L. Cummins on Silver AnniversaryAbout 200 members of the congregation of the First Methodist church attended a fellowship dinner last night at Wesley Center in honor of the 25th wedding anniversary of their pastor and his wife, the Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Cummins.The program, gifts and decorations carrying out the Silver anniversary theme were a surprise to Mr. and Mrs. Cummins, who had expected only the regular dinnerThe guests of honor and one of their daughters, Mrs. Ted (Shirley) Wolfe, Mr. Wolfe and the two grandchildren. Susanne and Sally, were seated at a table which was decorated with an arrangement of white stock and silver foliage in a crystal bowl. The number, 25. in silver on a circular design, was placed among the floral bouquet. At one side of the centerpiece were a miniature bride and groom. At the other side w ere the tiny figures of a man with fishing pole nearby, lying on a sofa reading a Bible, and of a woman seated at a piano.Their other daughter. Miss Nor-fF very body Invited To Woman’s Club Tea To Be Held February 9ma Lee Cummins, who is a senior at Scarrett Christian Workers’ col lege at Nashville, Tenn., spent the week end at the home of her par ents but was unable to stay over for the celebration last night.Silver dollars in a large silver bowl, the gifts of the congregation, were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Cummins by Mrs. E. M. Travel-stead. As the presentation was made. Mrs. Harry Border read an original poem.Also on the program was a hum orous skit by Mrs. James Hall and Harland Smith and a reading by Johnny Shepherd. Mrs. Bill Norman played piano music during the meal. Mrs. Herman Schwartz led the opening prayer and Mr Cummins pronounced the benediction.IThe Harrisburg Woman’s club invites everyone to attend a silver tea to be held Monday afternoon, Feb. 9, at the home of Mrs. O. l.Tnrnnr Tr •vn WpsI Poolar street.Mr. and Mrs. Cummins were married Feb. 3, 1928, at the Methodist parsonage in Marion.
