NRS. W. Sanford Evans, Dromore avenue, will entertain at the ten hour Sunday afternoon in honor of the members of the cast who participated in the last play reading under the auspices of the Little Theatre. The play-reading group, under the auspices of the Little Theatre, will meet in the drawing-room of the Royal Alexandra hotel Tuesday eve ning, when the play presented at the last reading will be repeated. This meeting is open to the public. In honor of Miss Olive Rourke, a bride-elect of this month, Mrs. Eric O. Hilton, Oxford st., enter tained at luncheon Monday after noon, Mr. and Mrs. John Martin, Royal Alexandra hotel, left this morning for a trip to Honolulu, China and Japan. HM. Senator Arthur Meighen arrived from Toronto this morning to attend the funeral of Mr. R. T. Evans. Miss Simone Loewen returned Saturday from a six months’ visit in Belgium and France, having sailed from Southampton on the steamship Alaunia. RS, George Black, M.P., of Ot stawa, entertained informally at dinner on Saturday evening in honor of her son, Captain Lyman Black, of Winnipeg, on his birthday. Covers were laid for 12, the table being adorned with spring flowers. The guests included Mrs. Black, who has been in Ottawa for terra weeks with Mrs. George Mrs. B. L. Paterson and Miss Margaret Paterson, who have been recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hitesman, Stiles sr., have returned to their home in Rainy River. ME R. Y. Eaton, of Toronto, was “At Home” for Mrs. John W. Eaton, this afternoon, at “Killy ree,” Highland avenue. Mr* Richard Huggard and Miss . Lorraine Halpenny will be joint hostesses of Thursday after noon, entertaining at a handker chief shower at Mrs. Huggard’s residence, Oakdale Court, in honor of Miss Elodie Sully, a bride-elect of February 15, Mrs. Tanya Miller entertained Wednesday evening in honor of Mrs. A. L. Wasel, of Melville, Sask. Mrs. M. Brown and Mrs. Harry Gressin presided over the tea cups. The guests numbered 15. NUMBER of small dinners are being arranged to precede the opening performance of Peer Gynt, which is being presented under the auspices of the Little Theatre, at the Dominion theatre next Wednesday evening.
