Announcement of the engagement and approaching marriage Miss Jean Parker, daughter of Mrs. Walter Mattiza, to Corporal Morris Dittlinger of Camp Wol-ters, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dittlinger, was revealed last week by the bride-elect’s mother.Mrs. Mattiza entertained with a tea at her home on Friday afternoon, Jan. 28, from four until six o’clock.Receiving the guests were Mrs. Mattiza, Miss Parker, Mrs. J. H. ( Dittlinger, Mrs. H. J. Mattiza, j and Mrs. Collis Mayo. iMiss Louise Armstrong of Kingsville presided at the guest book. Mrs. Vernon Speer invited the guests into the dining room.A low bowl holding pink and white carnations with maiden-hair fern centered the tea table, flanked by single white tapers in silver holders. Alternating at the cakeand coffee service were Miss Ema-leen Jennings, Mrs. Irvin Price, Mrs. Phil Magee, and Mrs. Newton Parr. The buffet held an arrangement of pink and white car-Announcement cards displacing the military insignia and Jean-Morris. February 19.’’ were presented the guests from a soldier’s helmet by Jeanine Speer and Larry Lorenz, who was dressed in asoldier's uniform.Miss Parker was graduated fromRobstown High School in 1943.and since then has been employed with the State Department of Public Welfare in Denton.Corporal Dittlinger is a 1942graduate of Robstown High School, where he was a member of the football team. He attended Schreiner Institute in Kerrville for one semester before entering thearmed services in July of 1943.IThe marriage will take place at seven o'clock in the evening Feb. 19 at the Post Chapel at ( amp Wotters. Miss Parker will be accompanied to Camp Wolters by Mr. and Mrs. Mattiza. ;On next Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 9, the bride-elect will he honored with a tea shower at thehome of Mrs. Mabry Cardwell onthe Petronila highway. Hostessesfor the affair will be Mrs. Card-well, Mrs. Phil Magee. Mrs. Newton Parr, Mrs. Irvin Price, Mrs. Walter Mohle, Mrs. Loyett Parr, Mrs. C. S. Herring.
