News From BowieBy KATHERN HALL BOWIE — Lee Bartlett was released from the Good Sama-; ritan Hospital in Phoenix Jan. 23. He had undergone surgery. He was taken to his granddaughter’s home, Mrs. John Lane of Glendale.General WSCS of the Methodist Church met at the home of Mrs. Dewey Kissinger, Jan. 26. Program was given by Rev. Mardis on Epistles f Paul. Hostesses were Mrs. Velma Ann Lockwood and Mrs. Clara Kaiser. Present were Irene Doyle, Mattie Slack. Edith Olney. Mrs. Mardis, Clara Kaiser. Mrs. 0. L. Hilburn. A going away gift was presented to Mrs. 0. L. Hil-burn from the WSCS.Mr. and Mrs. Jim Branbon stopped by Jan. 21 on their way to San Simon and visited in the Kathern Hall home.Mrs. Adan Ghana enteredBaptist Church.A reception was given for Mr. and Mrs. Randy Haws Jan. 28 by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Webb. Present were Mr. and Mrs. E. White. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mc-Intire. Mr. and Mrs. Bill White, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Bowman, i Tom Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. Dan McKastle, Roy Brickey. I Shirleen Hensely, Coguet Whit-] ten, Karen Barksdale, Daisy Whitten, Larry Brickey. Ginger Cooke, Mr. and Mrs. Skeet Thomas and daughter, George Ann Mary Adams, Rena Ioli, Mr. and Mrs. C H. Hadawav, Kitty Car-dell, Nancy Keith, Mr. and Mrs Henry' Mathers, and Sue Hall. Ones that sent gifts were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Porter, Mr. and Mrs. 6. T. Creighton, and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Burreson. Mrs. Daisy Whitten decorated the bridal cake. Mrs. Haws is the former Sylvia Webb and attended school here in Bowie and Mr. Haws is employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad.
