Hise-Turner Marriage Solemnized Ridgway Methodist Church Jan.MR. AND MRS. JF.RRY DEAN TURNERItlitThe Ridgway Methodist church was the scene on January 22 of the candlelight marriage ceremony of Miss Gearldine Hise to Jerry Dean Turner. The Rev. Smith Williams performed the impressive double ring ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Elmer V. Hise of Ridgway and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs Riley Turner of Marion. 111.Prior to the ceremony Miss Bobbie Gass played traditional wedding music and accompanied Miss Darla Dixon, soloist, as she sang “Because,” Whither Thou Goest” and The Lord’s Prayer.”The altar was beautifully decorated with four seven-branch candelabra flanked with four large palms, and a large basket of white feathered mums stood on either side.Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a formal gown of w'hite bouquet taffeta closed at the back with tiny covered buttons A scroll pattern of vemse lace touched with seed pearls and irridescent sequins accented the sculptured bodice and outlined the scooped neckline. The long fitted sleeves ended in bridal points over her wrists. Deep tucks arched over the sides of the voluminous chapel train skirt at the hipline. and a wide butterfly bow was caught at the deep point of the waistline at the back. Her waist length veil of heathcoat illusion was caught to a double crown of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a cascade bouquet of white stephanotis surrounding a lavender orchid. The tradition of something old, something new, somthing borrowed and something blue was carried out.Mrs. fue Dillard, close friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. She wore a gown of medium lilac peau de soie styled with unpressed pleats to form the bell shaped skirt. The empire lines of the scooped neckline came to a V-shape in the back, surplus gath ered bodice came to a large peau de soie rose in center front, the head band was of deep purple velvet bow worn with a full circle lace veil, and shoes to match the head band. She carried a cascade bouquet of white pom poms and tied with orchid streamers.Miss Linda Miner, friend of the bride, Miss Judy Hise, cousin of the bride, and Miss Linda Dixon.friend of the bride, were bridesmaids. They were all dressed identically as the matron of honor.Misses Judy and Diann Turner, sisters of the groom, were flower girls They were beautifully dressed in a light shade of pink chiffon over orchid and wore head bands of pink flowers.Don Hise. brother of the bride, was best man. Other groomsmen were Tom Harper. Don (Tollman and Philip Trammel Elmo Sheridan and Larry Hill were ushers. Little Stan Blackwell, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer. The men in the wedding party wore black tuxedo suits with white boutonnieres.For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Hise chose a deep purple sheath dress, her accessories were of lighter shades of orchid andblack.Mrs. Turner chose a sheath dress of gray lace over pink, her accessories were pink and black. Both mothers wore corsages ofwhite roses.Following the ceremony a reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Ridgway.The six tiered cathedral type wedding cake which was artrti-eally decorated with the bell andi hun-h th^mp frntrrpd thr hridp’sPhoto by Gunzei's Studiotable, which was flanked by large baskets of mums and palm trees. Garlands of smilax surrounded the base of cake and was entwined in the silver candelabra.The round punch table was graced with a silver punch bowl and was also circled with smilax. Both tables were skirted with iden-cloths of white bridal satin overskirts of tulle trimmed imported lace and encrustedtical w i t h withwith tiny seed pearls.Serving at the bride’s table were Mrs. John Oglesby. Mrs. Richard Moore, Mrs. Nadine Shaw and Miss Cathy Neumann. Miss Jennie Handcock registered the guests and Misses Sue and Peg Schmitt presided at the gift table. The reception was served by the Collins Catering Service.Immediately following the recep tion the bride and groom left for a few drys honeymoon to the Southland.
