Golden WeddingOn February 8th. 1888, William Richard Rodway and Mary Alaverta Jeffrey were married ill: the farm home of the bride’s father near Dug-ald, Manitoba. The officiating; minister was the late Rev. S, O. Irvine.Mr. Rod way was born in St. James, Manitoba, in 1855, and can tell the many interesting stories relative to the pioneer days of our Province.Mrs. Rodway was born in Carleton County, Ontario, 29 miles north of Ottawa, in Fitzroy Township, in 1864, and had Fitzroy Harbour for her post office.I %Mr. Rodway'B father came to Manitoba by way of Hudson’s Bay, and eventually resided in St. James.Mrs. Rodway came with the family of her father, Mr. Thos. Jeffrey, to Manitoba in 1878, and lived on a farm near Dugald.Five of the children born to the marriage are living: Mrs, Win. McLeod, of Balmoral; Graham Rodway, on the farm east of Centre school; Mrs. James Scade, Galt, Ontario; and Miss Ada Rodway and Mr. Claud Rodway, of Winnipeg. Two children, Thomas Stanley and* William Alfred, have died. The former at the age of 19 years, and the latter when two years old.There are ten grandchildren. ,Mrs. Rodway has two sisters and one brother living; Mrs. Thos. Scam-fber, of Drayton, N.
