God of Love Brought Only Twenty-FiveCouples to the Altar.During the past thirty days sly Dan Cupid has not had a very bounteous harvest in Wapello county and with using all of his wiles he has been successful in bringing to the altar only twenty-five couples. It is a poor beginning for the new year and does not compare favorably with other recent months. The old and young, rich and poor have yielded to his mysterious charms but the number has not been as great as might be expected. January, however, is not one of the best months for the little boy with quiver and arrows and it is not at all probable that he will be disheartened by the results of his past month’s work.
