HISS ESTHER POWELL BECOMES BRIDE OFMIKOUS W. WRIGHTMJsh Esther LaVerne Powell, daughter of Mr. arid Mrs. C. A. Powell of this city, and Mlkous Willard Wright, son of Mrs. Georgia Wright of Bonifay, Fla., were wed at 4 o'clock Christmas afternoon, in an impressive ceremony at the Dawson Street M thodist church. The Rev. A. Ja^on Shi rah officiated at the double ring ceremony.The altar was beautifully decorated in pir.cs, palms, and southern amilax, rurming a background for aisle ba.skets of white gladiolil, and seven-branched can.lelabra, holding lighted white tapers, cast a soft glow over the nuptial scene.Miss Edith Dixon, organist, p-aved a selecc.101; of pre-nuptial music preceding the ceremony, and McDowell» “To A Wild Rose*' during the ceremony. She accompanied Miss Eloiae Stevens, soloist, who sang “At Dawning” and “Sweetest Story Elver Told”.Usher-groomsmen were Messers. Allen Powell, Jr., brother of the b^iJe; and Jack McLean. Mr. Gus Atkinson of Tallahassee, Fla., was the groom's beat man.Miss Mina Jo Powell, maid of honor, was her sister’s only attendant. She wore a lovely gown of dusty rose crepe and carried an arm bouquet of pale pink carnations.Little Miss Nancy McLean, flower girl, was dressed in a gown of ice blue saau, fashioned like that of the bride's. She carried white carnations.The attractive blonde bride, given in marriage by her father, was radiaut in her wedding gown of ice blue satin, and a waist-lengih veil of sheerest illusion. The veil fell from a coronet of pule blue carnations and tuberoses. Her bridal bouquet was blue carnations, showered withtuberoses.The bride’s only ornament was ail heirloom bracelet which was a gift of the groom s family.Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents entortaiued at a reception at the church. The receiving room wag* attractively deem uted for the occasion.Mrs. Gus Atkinson kept the Bride's Book. Mrs. A. A. Ellis pianist, and Miss Eloise Stevens, soloist, presented a musical program during ihe reception. Mrs.', Charles England, Mrs. J. J. McLean and Miss Elaine Roberts of Perry, Fla., assisted in receiving and serving the guests.A beautiful four-tiered wedding cake, surrounded with alba plena camellias, ceulered the bride’s table. Other decorative appointments on the table were bouquets if blue and white carnations, white glads, interspersed with dainty ferns.After receiving their guests, the young ample left on a wedding trip to New Orleans, La. After a week, they will reside in Thom-ttbville, where the groom is assistant manager of the Thomas-ville Mo lor Court.Attendind the weddmg from out-of-town were: Mr. and l$rs. Gus Atkinson of Tallahassee, Fla.; Mrs. J. A. Roberts, grandmother of the bride and Miss Claire Roberts, aunt of the bride, from Gainesville, Fla; Mrs. Gene Lindsey of Bluffton, Ga., and Mrs. D. G. Williams of Gainesville, Fla.
