Essig MarriesLorin Dooien of TexasI♦OLIVE BRANCHBRIDGMAN, Dec. 28 (Special)— At a double-ring ceremony performed on Christmas Day at 4 p. m. in the Emmanuel Lutheran church, Bridgman, Miss Mary B. Essig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Essig of Bridgman, was united in marriage with Lorin J. D. Dooien of Paducah. Tex., son of Mrs. J. O. Dooien ofthat city.The Rev. H. A. Ott officiated at the ceremony. Miss Pearl Schulz sang “The Lord's Prayer” accompanied at the organ by Mr. Merz.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace and net gown, with long net gloves and a fingertip veil caught in a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a gardenia and a white prayer book. Her maid of honor, her sister, Mrs. Peter Ru-dell, wore pale blue jersey, with a bouquet of white * mums and lav-endar sweet peas. The bride’s niece, Miss Marilyn Miller, was a bridesmaid, in a pink net gown and a white ’mum and sweet pea bouquet.Emil Essig, the bride’s brother, was best man, and the other attendant was Henry Mutz. Ushers were Traugott Reck and August Essig.A dinner for the bridal party of 25 was served by candlelight at the Hyerdall restaurant, where the table was centered with a tall wedding cake, decorated with a miniature bride and broom.A reception for 300 persons followed at the Bridgman Legion hall, with music for dancing by the “Bud” Harris orchestra.A graduate of Bridgman highschool, Mrs. Dooien is employed at the Mountain States Telephone company m Denver, Colo.Her husband was graduated from the Paducah high school and West Texas State colelge in Canyon, Tex.OLIVE BRANCH, Dec. 28 — Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Sheeley of Buchanan spent Sunday with the Ben Sheeley family.Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Ingels entertained at a family dinner on Christmas day.Miss Nancy McLaren of Fort Wayne, Ind., has arrived home for the Christmas vacation.Mrs. Joseph Fulton is convalescing nicely at the home of her son, Ora Briney, in Buchanan. She recently underwent an operation.Mr. and Mrs. B. Sherman entertained relatives and friends on Christmas day. Mrs. Irene Laker, of Homer, Mrs. William Watt and ftie John Clark, Jr., family of Kokomo were guests from out-of-town.Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dickey entertained at a family dinner on Christmas day.The Christmas program at the Olive Branch church, on Sunday night was well attended.
