Blanke-St. JacquesBefore an altar decorated with palms and candles in the First Methodist church in Dolton, June Blanke, daughter of Mr. and Mvs. Henry Blanke, 19(H Kanawha ave., Dolton, and Armond St. Jacques, Y-3/c, son of Mrs. Harriet Werder of Deming, N. M., exchanged marriage vows last Saturday evening', Dec. 23, at seven o'clock with the Rev. M. S. Freeman reading the double ring service.The bride, presented in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white slipper satin with a long train. A tiara of seed pearls held in place her fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of ealla liliies. Miss June Roth of Harvey attended her as maid of honor, and biidesmaids were Juanita Blanke and Thelma and Shirley Cogswell.Miss Roth was attired in a gown of yellow satin and net with a headpiece of matching plumes and veil. Her flowers were yellow chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids wore similar gowns of blue with matching plumes and veil, and carried bronze chrysanthemums.The groom had his bride's brother, Henry Blanke, Jr., for best man. Ushers were Sgt. John Wernicke, S/Sgt. Kenneth Maxwell, and Sgt. Donald Lorenzen. Karen Strefling, the flower girl, wore a dress of blue satin with hat to match, and carried yellow flowers. Kenneth Vincent, dressed in a sailor suit, served as ring bearer.The bride’s mother wore a violet dress with black and fuchsia hat and black accessories. Her corsage was of pink carnations. The soloist, Miss Lois Nelson, wearing a blue formal gown and -a corsage of pink carnations, sang “The Lord's Prayer,” “I Love You Truly,” and “Always.” Mrs. Freuhling was the organist.Immediately after the ceremony a reception was given at the Dolton village hall for more than one hundred guests. The young couple expect to make’ a wedding trip to Deming, N. M., to visit the grooms mother who was unable to attend the wedding, after which the groom will report to Louisiana for re-assignment. He is home on a 30-day leave from Newfoundland where he had been stationed.
