Miss Paula Louise Palumbo and Steven A. Beck were married by the Rev. Donald L. Voelker at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 18 in St. Agatha Catholic Church, Ellwood City. Parents of the couple are Mrs. Matilda Palumbo of 524 Smiley St. and the late Paul Palumbo and Mr. and Mrs. Marcus A. Beck of Butler. Given in marriage by her brother, David, the bride wore a floor-length gown in a semi-A line style with peau de soie and alencon lace trim. A high neck ruffle, pearl trim and bishop sleeves were also featured. She wore a matching mantilla of silk illusion with alencon lace trim, carried a prayer book carried by her mother on her wedding day 25 years ago, and wore a ring belonging to her late maternal grandmother. The book was covered with white orchids and tea roses. Miss Mary Ann Palumbo served her sister as maid of honor and Miss Madelyn Hervatine was a bridesmaid. They wore gowns of light orchid crepe and dark purple velvet boleros with sequin trim on the sleeves, collar and bolero fronts. They wore mum buds in their hair. The gowns were made by the aunt of the bride, Mrs. John Perne. Richard Graham of Butler was best man with Dennis Amos of Butler, Thomas Perne and William Grossman, cousins of the bride, ushering guests. Mrs. Mary Wardman provided nuutual music with a reception following in the Catholic Center. After a wedding trip to Seven Springs, the couple will reside in Hardyville. The new Mrs. Beck, a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School, was formerly employed by Travel Products, Inc. Mr. Beck, a graduate of Butler High School and the Shenango Valley campus of Penn State, is employed as a construction inspector with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
