P. Lane, became the bride of Ormond Lohr Watson of Los Angeles, at the home of her parents in Wasco.The bridal groups formed before the Rev. J. A. Macdonald, pastor of the Wasco Congregational church, in front of a scintillating Christmas tree in the living-room, about which was established an atmosphere of the holiday season by the use of clusters of holly, poinsettas, mistletoe and holly wreaths.As the party entered Miss Lurline Amberslie played Lohngrirfs Wed ding March and during tne ceremony sang softly I Lore You Truly.”The bride was attended by her sls-ter inlaw Mrs. J. H. Lane, as maid of honor and Miss Betty Harris was her only bridesmaid. The bridegroom was assisted by the bride's brother, J. H. Lane, as best man.The bride's gown was distinguished by its smart simplicity, being of coral crepe satin designed with snug fitting bodice and tiered skirt, the uneven hemline reaching to the floor. Her slippers were of silver. Her only head' ornament was ,• cornet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses end lillies of the valley.Miss Lane was graduated from the local grammar and high’ schools. She was a member of the graduating class of 1929 and in her seijior year took an active part in dramatics, having a prominent part in the senior play. She was also assistant business manager of the Annual.During her junior year in high school she was assistant art editor of the “Wasconian.”Mr. Watson received his education in Illinois. He is connected with the Buiek automobile sales agency in Los Angeles. Mrs. Watson’s going away ensemble wns of navy blue satin crepe with trimmings of ecru lace and a cessories to match. /Following the ceremony a turkey dinner was served to the guests at a table at which the appointments were a combination of the Christmas and wedding motifs. A tiered birthday caks, topped with a miniature bride and groom which was later cut by the bride, occupied the center of the attractive table.After the dinner Mr. and Mrs. Watson left by motor for I.os Angeles, where they will make their home.Among those who attended the wedding and the dinner following were the bride’s mother and father, Sr. and Mrs. O. French, director of industrial relations.“Penalty for failure to obey the law is a fine of not moae than $500 or imprisonment for notjtnore than 6 mon1 ths, or both,” said French. “In addition, an injured man? can both claim compensation and star for damages and the employer’s right to claim the familiar defenses is prohibited.“In fact, the employer is presumed to be negligent if without a compensation insurance policy. Wilful failure to insure will result in an increase of 10 per cent in an award to a widow or to an injured man, with a maximum of $1,000.
