Miss Emma Lou Gutierrez and Victoriano Leal pledged wedding vows Sunday in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Benavides. The Rev. Antonio Arguelles, pas tor, officiated for the double ring ceremony. Multi-seasonal flowers with a touch of pink and English ivy and glossy green foliage decked the main altar, flanked by arrange ments of the flowers in floor baskets. Pews were marked with white satin ribbon and English ivy. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Gutierrez of Bena vides. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Luis Leal of Con cepcion. Sister Monica Ann was musi cian, accompanying the soloist, Sister Rose Dushesme of San Diego. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She selected a pale ivory peau de soie gown of Alencan lace, re-embroider ed an English net and fashioned with an empire bodice and grace ful bugle sleeves. A deep flower lace border scalloped the hem line of the A-line skirt. Silken loop bows at the shoulder intro duced a mantle train that carried into a wide and full chapel train. Her silk illusion veil was held by a crown of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of car nations and pom pons. Miss Amparo Gutierrez, cousin of the bride was maid of honor and was wearing an old fashioned long sleeved white satin blouse and a pink skirt, styled with a pink velvet bow. Misses Annabel Vasquez, Miss Irma Bazan, both of Benavides, Miss Margarita Puig of Rey nosa, Mexico, and Miss Anna Laura Barrera of Laredo were bridesmaids. Their gowns were fashioned attired identically to the maid of honor’s, except were styled of olive and white colors. Each carried a basket adorn ed in pink winter flowers, and wore old fashioned bonnets as headpieces. Lou Anna Guajardo was flower girl and Bernardo Leal was ring bearer. Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Joe Leal. Ushers were David Hinojosa of Benavides, Mario Leal and Car los Palacios of Concepcion and Olivero Guajardo, also of Bena vides. Other wedding attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hinojosa of San Diego, Mr. and Mrs. Nago Alanis of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Tomas Rodriguez of Laredo, Mr. and Mrs. Mario Hector Garcia of Benavides and Mr. and Mrs. Raul Cox of Brownsville. The mother of the bride chose a yellow crepe wool dress with imported lace trim. An orchid formed her corsage. The groom’s mother was wear ing a yellow metallic ensemble with an orchid corsage. Poinsettias, greenery and wed ding bells decorated the school cafeteria for the wedding re ception. The bride’s table was covered in a white tulle cloth over taffeta. Pink appliques adorned the cloth, and center ing the table was an arrangement ,of pompons and carnations. Mesdames Lela Alanis, F. H. Canales, Verlon Bridges, Lamar Vela, Robert Olivares, Gertru dis Saenz and Santiago Garcia were members of the house party. For travel, the bride wore a grey dress with a matching coat. A pink orchid highlighted her en semble. After a wedding trip, the couple will be at home in Denton. The bride was graduated from Our Lady of the Lake High School and is attending Our Lady of the Lake College. Her husband, a graduate from Benavides High School, is attending North Texas State University in Denton, MRS, VICTORIANO SEAL
