We’d hit a little opposition down the road. It looked like the Germans were putting every-thing they had in it. .In about 5 hours the opposition was over, and we were expecting the surrender when it came,” he said.In addition to the Bronze Star and Presidential Citation, Harris wears the ETO ribbon with three battle stars, the pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon, the American Defense Ribbon, the Victory Ribbon and what he terms “the good boy” medal.Harris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Harris. A brother, Cpl. John M. Harris, is now en route home from Bombay, India.T-5 Harris was married on December 7 to Miss Marie Fuller of Shamrock, and at present they are staying in Wellington.
