Nichols, of Luuenburgh left for parts unknown. Nichols being awayon business, she packed up all the best goods in the house, including dishes, bedding, carpets, etc , and ordered the hired man to take her to Lancaster depot. It being his custom to obey her commands, he did so, and returned before Mr. Nichols came home. After a little investigation, Nichols ascertained his wife had run him in debt at different places, about §100. The cause of this proceeding is not known. Nichols was always very indulgent to his wife, dressed her well, kept a team for her own us** and gave her money enough to pay expenses. Her native place is Aurora, 111. Mrs. Nichols left two letters on her table, one purporting to come from Charles Pratt, saying that he was ready to marry her whenever she got free from Nichols, and the other from herself to her husband, -saying that Pratt was the principal cause of her leavinifC
