Ala :Miss Joan Celeste Whitfield and Ernest Wilson Salmons were united in marriage on Nov. 28 at 7 pm at the St Andrews Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Montgomery officiating. Nuptial music for the double ring candlelight ceremony was presented by Mrs. Karen Salisbury, organist, and Mrs. Barbara Watson, soloist.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Whitfield of Panama City and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred F Salmons, also of Panama City.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white eyelet, embroidered organza gown with a sheer yoke, bodice and deep cuffs edged with lace combined with pulled through green satin ribbon. Pale green taffeta underlined the bodice and the gown was enhanced by bands on the wide full sleeves and skirt. The built-in train formed a gentle sweep to the floor and she wore a floor length veil Of illusion. She earned a cascade of daisies entwined with lace and nbbon.Mrs. Iinda McNeil, sister of the bnde, was matron of honor She wore a floor length gold velvet gown which featured an empire waist with a fitted bodice and long fittedsleeves. They dressed m gowns simihar to the matron of honor m green velvet.Miss Lisa Salmons, sister of the groom, served as flower-girl and carried a basket of flower petals.Robert Sneed, cousm of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Douglas Whitfield, brother of the bnde, and Eugene Sneed, cousin of the groom. Stephen Salmons, brother of the groom, was eandleligbter.The mother of the bnde wore an A-line dress of green with long sleeves and a sleeveless green lace coat She also wore brown accessories and a corsage of daisies.The mother of the groom chose an A-line beige dress with black accessories and eorsage of daisies.Following the wedding, the bride’s parents entertained with a reception in the social hall of the church.Mrs. Robert Sneed, cousin of groom, kept the bride's book.Mrs. Duane Johns, cousin of the bnde, and Mrs. Douglas Whitfield, sister-in-law of thebnde, presided at the punch bowl. Presiding at the bride’s table were Mrs. Billy Scott, aunt of the bnde, who cut the cake, and Gayle Cooper, cousm of the bride, who assisted.For traveling, the br’de wore a floor length pink velvet gown with empire waist and long bell sleeves complemented by a floor lengtn sleeveless coat of maroon velvet and black accessoriesThe bnde is a 1968 graduate of Rutherford High School The groom is a 1967 graduate of Nathan Bedford Forrest Senior High School of Jacksonville and is employed by Southern Railways.Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sneed of Pensacola, Mr. and Mrs. David Sneed, of St Petersburg.
