Lyford,- of Galva, and First Lieutenant G. Austin In gels, United States army air forces, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaar Ingels, of LaFay-ette, was solemnized at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon in the First Methodist church in Galva. Dr. Howard B. Obora, of Peoria, read the jingle ring ceremony in the presence of relatives and close friends.Mrs. Verna Bowman Anderson played a recital of bridal music, and Miss Mary Ingels, of Riverside, cousin of the groom, sang “Because'* The “Bridal Choral* from Lohengrin was played as the bridal party entered the church. They were preceded by Miss Mildred Roberts, of Indianapolis, and Miss Martha Benson, of St. Louis, who attended as maid of honor and bridesmaid Both are sorority sisters of the brideLieutenant Ingels was attended by Lieutenant A. E. Lauterbach, of Peoria, as best man. Lieutenant Luter-bach recently returned with the bridegroom from overseas duty. The ushers were James Ingels, of LaFayette, brother of the groom, and Corliss Irvin Ingels, of Henry, cousin of Lieutenant Ingels.The bride wore a wedding gown fashioned with a fitted white bodice of white lace styles with a peplum and three-quarter length sleeves. The flowing skirt of white net was floor length Her veil, which was fingertip length, fell from a wee half hat of net. Heronly jewelry was a stunning pearl pin, a gift of the bridegroom, and she carried a bridal bouquet of white roses centered with a white orchid and with a touch of pink sweetheart roses.The maid of honor and the bride-maid both wore gowns of the same style as the bride’s. Miss Benson, in turquoise, wore a matching flower-petal hat in net and carried a dainty round bouquet in yellow, white and pink, centered with a nosegay of spring flowers. Double violets were caught in the shower ribbons. Miss Roberts was in yellow with matching hat and carried a round bouquet of pink and white centered with a spring nosegay of iris, roses and sweetpeas.For her daughter’s wedding, the bride's mother chose a two-piece lace-trimmed dress of fuchsia crepe with black accessories. Mrs. Ingels, mother of the groom, was wearing a street-length dress of black with a sequin-trimmed hat. Both wore corsages of white gardenias.The couple retired from the church as Mendelssohn's stirring wedding march was played The ceremony was followed with a reception at the Lyford home In Galva Heights. The bridal table carried out the bride's chosen colors of turquoise and yellow and the large white cake, topped with a wedding bell and wreath of orange blossoms, was cut by Mrs. W. E. Cochran Mrs. G. Giebelhausen poured and was assisted by Miss Evelyn Warner and Mrs. Gertrude WartmanLieutenant and Mrs. Ingels left later on a short wedding trip. For traveling Mrs. Ingels wore a smart wool dressmaker suit in ice blue and a Victorian rose coat with muskrat tuxedo. Her accessories were of black, and her corsage was a white orchid taken from the wedding bouquet. Ingei* graduated tffth the February, 1944, class. She majored in advertising art and was a member of Theatre Guild, Qymkana, the YWCA and Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority. Since graduation, she has been employed as assistant advertising manager of W. Lewis dt Company in Champaign.Lieutenant Ingels attended the University for two years where he was a football manager and member of Theta Chi fraternity. In July, 1942, he enlisted in the army air forces, where he received his commission and wings in October, 1943.
