Swank—Beery,‘ Cedar Dale/’ the beautiful country resi* dence of Mr. and Mrs, Noah W. Beerv, near the village ot Edom, m this county, was the scene of a beautiful wedding Tuess day morning last. The contracting parties were Mr. DeWitt A. Swank aud Miss Oiive V. Beery,, two of Rockingham’s most pop* pular young people.The guests were assembled in the parlor, when, at 9:15 o’clock, the bridal party entered in the following order : Mr. C. J. Hcatwole and Miss Mollie Lmeweaver, Mr. Wade EL. Minnich and Miss Maude Zirkle, Mr. Clint. Fletcher and Miss Daisy Funk* Mr. J. N. Swank and Miss Bertie Fletcher, followed by the bride and groom. They were met in the parlor by Rev. R. H, Peel, who performed the marriage ceremony. The bride looked lovely in a dark brown travelling dress with hat and gloves to match, and the bridesmaids were beautifully attired in becoming costumes. The wedding piesents were numurous and costly. No cards had been issued for the marriage and only the nearest friends and relatives of the couple witnessed the ceremony.After the marriage the guests were ushered into the dining-room, where a sumplu* oua wedding breakfast was served. Every delicacy which refined taste could suggest or lavish hospitality supply had its place upon the festal board. At its conclusion the party were driven to Liuvillc Station, where Mr. and Mrs. Swank boarded the noon train for a wedding trip to the Atlanta Exposition, where they will spend a week.The bride a beautiful young lady, a daughter of N, W. Beery, who is widely known as one of the most successful farmers in the Yalley. Mr. Swank owns and operates the Edom Roller Mills. He is a son of J. P. Swank, a prominent farmer of Linville District, and one of the largest cattle dealers in the Valley.
