Jr., were married at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the First Baptist Church.Rev. Dr. Chens T\ Horne performed the double rirg ceremony. The church was decorated with an arrangement of while snapdragons, California mums and poinsei-tias. TheaJtar was bai\ked with emerald greens and red and white poinsetlias with palms and seven-branch candelabra.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs..Carlos V. Lawson, Black-water, Va. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Virginia Jordan of Martinsville, and William R. Jordan, Sr.,'of Barrington, III.The nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Daphne Blackwell, organ-ist. Selections included 0 Perfect Love, Earnbv; 4‘Because,** D’Hardelof; . and ' ’through the Years,** Carrie Jacobs Bond.The bride, given in marriage by her lather, wore a formal gown of peau de yom and Afencon lace, fashioned with lace bateau neck-lire, adorned with sepd pearls andwhite sequins, long tapering sleeves, sculptured bodice and full voluminous skirt with garlands of lace terminating into a chapel train. Her fingertip veil, with hlusher of illusion was attached (o a lace Swedish crown of pearls and iridescents. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls. She carried a cascade Iwuquet of stephanotis and white orchids.Twin AI tendedMatron of honor was the bride's twin sister, Mrs. Alvin P. Meyers. She ware a street length dress of moss green velvet with boat neckline and semi-pleated skirt. The headpiece was a bow nf matching material with net of illusion. She carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses interspersed with tulle and silver mistletoe.Bridesmaids were JBrenda Lawson, sister of the bride, and Marie Parish. They wore red velvet dresses with design identical to of the matron of honor. They carried similar bouquets.,John F. Floyd nf Martinsville served as best nun for his nephew. Ushers were Billy H. Kirk of Winston-Salem; N. C., and Alvin P. Myers of Newport News.The mother of the bride’ wore a dress of blue and lavender floral designs with black accessories.
