E. Blunt, Royal Artillery. The ceremony was performed by Canon Blunt, of Salisbury (cousin of the bridegroom), assisted by the Archdeacon of London. The bride, who wore a gown of white satin and an old lace veil, was given away by her uncle, the Duke of Sutherland. She was attended by no fewer than ten bridesmaids, viz., the Lady Constance Mackenzie (her sister), Miss Florence Chaplin, the Hon. Iona Macdonald, the Hon. Lilian Napier (cousins of the bride), Miss Marjorie Blunt (cousin of the bridegroom), the Lady Muriel Erskine, the Lady Rosemary Leveson-Cower, the Hon. Ethel Fraser, Miss Madeleine Stanley, and Miss Violet Abdy. They were all dressed in white, with large white hats adorned with yellow roses. W. and Mrs. Ruthven.The Duchess of Sutherland and Lilian Countess of Cromartie afterwards held a large reception at Stafford House, and later the Countess of Cromartie and her husband left for their honeymoon tour.Among the numerous handsome wedding presents was a large silver cigar-box from the Duke and Duchess of Connaught, a gold watch bracelet set with pearls from Princess Louise and the Marquess of Lome, a ruby and emerald brooch from the Duke of Westminster, a superb diamond hair-comb from the Duke of Sutherland, a diamond and ruby locket from Prince and Princess Alexis Dolgorouki, and a victoria, pair of horses, and complete set of harness from Mr. and Mrs. Tod Heatly.
