Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mitchell, Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m., in the First Baptist church of Rosebud. The Rev. Eugene Marley, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony in front of the altar decorated with baskets of white gladiola and candelabra holding tall lighted tapers.Nuptial music, including the processional and recessional, was played by Miss Patsy Fischer at the organ. Miss Margaret Hargrove was soloist for the ceremony. Her selections were “The Twelfth of Never” and “The Lord's Prayer.” The bride, given in marriage by Weldon Walston, her uncle, wore an Empire-styled gown of slipper satin, fashioned with a high Victorian neckline and longpuffed sleeves. The gown and chapel - length train were trimmed with braids of flower appliques. Her elbowlength veil of English illusion was held by a cluster of petal leaves outlined in pearls. She wore a diamond and pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. She observed the traditions by wearing “something old, something new, something borrowed, and somethingblue and a pim.y in her shoe.” She earned a bouquet of white roses atop a white Bible.Mrs. Frankie Schiller of Waco served her sister as matron of honor. Her floor-length Empire - waisted gown was of red velvet with a novelty trim of pearl drops. Her headpiece was a red velvet bow. She carried a nosegay of peppermint carnations.Bridesmaids were Miss Linda Thrasher and Miss Nancy Thrasher of Rosebud, sisters of the bride, and Mrs. Pad Meadows of Temple. Little Tammie Schiller of Waco, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Their ensembles were identical to that of the matron of honor. The bridesmaids carried nosegays of peppermint carnations, and the flower girl, a basket of rose petals.Best man was Greg Wallace of Wichita Falls. Groomsmen were David Kasner, Billy Maresh, andMrs. David R. Mitchell.Charles Ellison, and ring-bearer was David Hailey, all of Rosebud.Bryan Pa reus and Aubrey Pomykal lighted thecandles and served as ushers along with CharlesWest, all of Rosebud.Immediately after the church ceremony, the wedding reception was held at the D Brown Memorirl Library. Mrs. Charlie Coker registered the guests in the bride’s book. Others in the house party were Mrs. Jerry Brueggeman, Mrs. Larry Meacham, Mrs. Pat Herring, Mrs. Johnny Little, and Mrs. Clyde A. James.For going away, the bride wore a two-piece orange crepe ensemble with pleated skirt. Her accessories were b^ick, and her corsage was from her bridal bouquet.The couple will make their home near Rosebud, where the groom is engaged in farming.
