, Fiftieth AnniversaryDr. and Mrs* Edw. Doepp were pleasantly surprised last Monday evening at their home, 12941 Gregory st„ by about 50 of their old friends and relatives on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. It was the first golden wedding celebration in the Uhlich or Doepp families since Mrs. Doepp’s grandparents.It was on Dec. 14, 1892, in the parlor of the old Uhlich home (which now serves as a nurses’ | home for St. Francis hospital) that young Dr. Doepp and his .'.harming bride. Miss Emily Uhlich, were united in marriage by the Rev. Zimmerman of an Evan. Lutheran - hurch in Chicago. Miss I Kate Krueger and Mrs. Doepp’s j sister were the bridesmaids. The i young couple immediately went to j housekeeping in the same home in j which they now reside.Dr. and Mrs. Doepp were the recipients of many beautiful! bouquets, and a huge basket of flowers fro m the grandchildren, which was made up of a bride’s bouquet, surrounded with red roses j and large yellow chrysanthemums. Mrs. Doepp also received a beautiful solid gold locket and chain and the Doctor received a solid gold watch chain.An enjoyable evening was spent, refreshments were served and the guests left extending wishes for many more years of happiness.
