Vine Gal lias Obserue 65Years of Marriage RecentlyIn celebration of their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Vine Gallia. Sr.. of Wallis, received a host of relatives and friends at a dinnerand reception at the Wallis Knights of Columbus Hall.Hosting the occasion were their children. Mr. and Mrs. Lad (Annie) Jftlowy of Fast Bernard. Mr. and Mrs. George Gallia of Scaly. Mr. and Mrs. V ine Gallia. Jr.. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gallia. Mr. and Mrs. Vencil H. (W'illic Mae) Pra/.ak. Mr. and Mrs. Hay (Mary) Marling. Mr. and Mrs, Jem Gallia, all of Wallis.A delicious meal of barbecue beef, sausage, dressing, numerous casserole vegetable dishes, pastries and drinks was served at the noon meal with reception hours continuing until 5 p.m.A gold lace laid table held a three-tiered white anniversary cake adorned w ith various hues fall-colored candy leaves of gold. red. tan and brown. The cake was topped with a miniature vase of irridescent gold in which was set the silvernumerals 65 surrounded bysilver and gold leaves. Diamond clusters formed small flowers and hearts. Bronze chrysanthe-Sprmums were set on each side of the anniversary cake which wasbaked and created by theirdaughter. Mrs. Vencil H. Pra/.ak.Mrs. Gallia wore a navy blue dress with a diamond clustered corsage of pink and bluecarnations. Mr. Gallia wore a pink carnation boutonniere.I he couple were married on November lb, 1909. in Wallis by the late Father Demel.Mr. Gailia was horn inPraha. Texas, Fayette County. Mrs. Gallia, the former Mary Uhyrek, daughter of John andI heresia Uhyrek was born in Czechoslovakia and came to Texas with her parents when she was one year old. Mr. and Mrs. Gallia made their home in the Wallis community all their married life and were engaged in farming, ranching and water well drilling until their retirement several years ago.The couple were blessed w ith twelve children, five of whom are deceased. Four died in infancy and one son. Peter, died at the age of42 years.All of Mr. and Mrs Gallia’s 33 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren were present to wish their beloved grandparents a happy anniversary.Mr. Gallia is confined to a wheelchair but Mrs. Gallia is in good health and enjoys gardening, cooking and takingcare of her husband.
