WESTERLY, R. I., Dec. 12 ().— Police Chief George H. Champlin announced today that AnnieS. Nash and Harold W. Chapman were married in Westerly while a search was being made for them by thce of Connecticut and and Rhode Island. Chiff Champlin said the couple was married last night by the Rev. G. Edgar Tobin, rector of Christ Episcopal Church. Harold E. Nash, the girl's father, had asked police to conduct a search for the couple. He told Connecticut officials his daughter was 16 years old and she and Chapman were residents of Gro ton. Conn Chief Champlin, however, said the marriage license listed the girl's address as 96 Grace Street, Cranston, and her age as 21. Chap man gave his address as Orchard Street, Cranston, and said he was 26 years old. His occupation was listed as painter and his parents were described as Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. C of Groton. Nash and Cation officials he had been informed that the couple attempted to obtain a mar riage license in Cranston yester day, but it was refused on the ground they were not Rhode Island residents.
