]Obituary of James WyantJames Wyant was born in Ohio county, Indiana, April 4, 1829, and died at his family home in Washington township, December 4, 1919, at the advanced age of 90 years, 8 months and 3 days.His parents came to Indiana in the early history of the state and en dured all the hardships that the primitive times made necessary. Ats the age of 16, James journeyed to Michigan, where he lived for about ten years, during which time he en* listed in the Union army, serving in Company F, 12th Regt., Michigan Volunteer Inf., throughout the war.In 1866 he was united in marriage with Caliste Green of New York, and to this union nine children were born, all but three of which, to* gether with the wife and mother, preceded him in death. In 1874 he F* moved with his family tolowawherei he lived for about two years afterwhich he returned to Indiana and settled in Porter county. Later he lived for a time in Jasper county, coming to Starke county in 189©* where he lived continuously until the time of his death.His death is mourned by three children,Mrs. Phoebe Riegfe of Mishawaka, and Miss Mary and George of Knox, and a host of friends.The funeral was conducted Sundfty afternoon from the Lerch church In Washington township, Rev.
