Wedding Mass At St. Mary'sBaskets of fall flowers accented with wheat and greens formed the decorations in St. Mary’s Church for a Nov. 17 wedding mass at 12:30 p.m. The bride was Eileen Mary Lawler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Lawler, 1301 Riverview Rd., Sterling and the bridegroom was Matthew James Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller, 1119 Fair Oaks, Oak Park.The Rev. Robert Sherry was the officiating clergyman and Steve and Randy Baumgart served as altar boys. Organ and vocal selections were provided by Mrs. Robert Fecht and Frank Klocke.The bride wore an A-line silhouette full length gown of ivory peau de soie with fitted bodice covered with reembroidered French lace and wedding band neckline edged in ivory lace. Full length sleeves of the gown were capped with lace and banded with ivory lace. Encircling the lower skirt were lace appliques. The bride wore a full length ivory veil with a Juliet headpiece encrusted w’ith ivory seed pearls and teardrops. She carried a cascade bouquet of ivory carnations, star glow roses and baby’s breath from which fell streamers of ivory satin.Mrs. Thomas Ahern of Chicago, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor. Other attendants were Gloria Rurka, a college friend and her sisters-in-law, Mrs. William Lawler and Mary Kay Wilson. Their gowns were fashioned of avocado chiffon over matching taffeta. The floor length dirndl silhouettes were styled with empire bodices featuring set-in yokes outlined with self-ruffles and accented with ivory Venetian lace. The wedding band neckline held a Cameo pin and wrist length selfruffled Bishop sleeves were accented with the lace motif. Matching avocado braided Camelot caps embellished with Venetian lace and teardrops were attached to four tiered shoulder length maline veils worn by the attendants. They carried colonial bouquets of fall colored flowers.The groomsmen were Richard Bourjaily who served as best man and Donald Wilson, Thomas Ahern and W’esley Catri.The lector for the weddingMRS. MATTHEW J. MILLERmass was the bride’s brother, Bill Lawler of Park Forest south.ReceptionA buffet reception followed at Emerald Hill Country Club at which Dr. and Mrs. John Webb and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jurkens served as hosts and hostesses. Mrs. Pat Wasson was at the organ during the reception.The gift table w-as taken care of by Mary Pat Webb and the bride's sister, Molly Lawler, had charge of the guest book. Assistants were the bride’s sister, Peggy and a cousin, Maureen Shanley.The bride was educated at Newman High School and was graduated from Northern Illinois University. Presently she is teaching special education at the Frank W. Reilly School in Chicago.The bridegroom, a graduate of; Fenwick High School, Oak Park and John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, is an investment counselor for the firm of Bache Company, Chicago.After a honeymoon, the newlyweds are residing on the near north side in Chicago.
