DEL mO(TEXAS) NEWS-HERALP, Sunday, December 10, 1972-3B| Edith Bonnet Wed To Lt. Col. WhitelawEdith J. Bonnet, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Bonnet of Del Rio .was married to Lt. Col. Landon P. Whitelaw at 11 o’clock on the morning of Nov. 18 in the Ft. Myer Post Chapel at Ft, Myer, Va.The bride, who is a colonel and the assistant chief of the Army Nurse Corps, was given in marriage by Maj. Gen. George B. Hayes, longtime mend of the couple.The maid of honor was Brig. Gen. Lillian Dunlap, chief of the Army Nurse Corps and the best man was the bridegroom’s brother, Hamilton Whitelaw of Washington, D.C.The bride was attired in a two-piece white suit and white sweetheart roses formed her bouquet.The reception following the wedding was held in the Ft. Myer Officers’ Club. The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated in yellow and white, complementing the flora) arrangements and the tapers.A wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Va., followed the ceremony.Mrs. Whitelaw was reared in Del Rio and graduated from Del Rio High School. Shereceived her education in nursing at Medical and Surgical Memorial Hospital, now Baptist Memorial Hospital, In San Antonio and her master’s degree in hospital administration from Baylor University in Waco.Mrs. Whitelaw is presently on active duty In the United States Army, a colonel and assistant chief of the Army Nurse Corps.Col, Whitelaw is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton D. Whitelaw, formerly of St. Louis, Mo. He was bom In New York City and attended the University of Virginia, where he earned a business administration degree. He Is presently serving in the United States Army with the Combat Developments Command and is stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. Col, Whitelaw is an armor officer.Mrs. Whitelaw will retire from active duty in the military in January after 29 years of service. She will join her husband in Heidelberg.
