MARRIAGE OVERTAKES SNOWEighteen percent of Snow College students are married; that is, 52 out of a possible 293 (Upper Division). Forty-two of the husbands are ex-servicemen and Mrs. LaRue Johnson is an ex-servicewoman, Ages range from 18 to 38.The Snow “brides” have come from foreign shores — Mrs. Dean Lowry is a native of Honolulu and Mrs. George Mac Brown is an Irish lass. Five wives are out-of-staters: Mrs. Dewey Cunningham, from ' Idaho, Mrs. LeRay Anderson, from Wyoming; Mrs. Ola Polk Denison, 1 from Arkansas; Mrs. Billie K. An-■ derson and Mrs. Wayne K. Olsen,■ both from Los Angeles, Calif. Forty ; are from the state of Utah.Six husbands are originally out-' of-state: Dick Cannady, Raymond Bernard, Dewey Cunningham, Billy Joe Green, Joseph Sterner, Glen Vaughn and Dean Clark.There are 56 “Snow Babies;” 24 girls and 31 boys. The youngest is only 2 weeks, the oldest is 15 years.Half of the couples are either renting or own homes in Ephraim. Others are scattered out in the surrounding communities.Two couples are living with their parents; 21 are renting; 23 own homes; and 3 are building new homes.Out-of-state husbands attending Snow this quarter are: Massachusettes: Raymond andReva Peterson (of Salt Lake) Barnard, rent home in Ephraim, have one daughter, Lucile, 7 months.Detroit, Michigan. Dick and Venice Coates (of Mt. Pleasant) Cannady, met in Los Angeles while he was in Navy C. Bs.. rent home in I Mt. Pleasant, have one daughter, i Ann Louise, 18 months.Downy, Idaho: Dewey and 11a Mae Williams (of Malad) Cunningham, met at a circus, rent apartment in Ephraim, no children.Missouri: B. Joe and Donna Silar (Mt. Pleasant) Green, met while he was in army, have farm and one son, Billy Don, 3 years.Los Angeles, Calif.: Joseph A. and LaRue Larsen (of Manti) Sterner, met when he was in the afmy air corps, own home in Manti, have one daughter, Josie Ann, 6 years.Malad, Idaho: Glen and Mary Ekins (of Partridge. Utah) Vaughn, met in Los Angeles, renting apartment in Ephraim, no children.Malad, Idaho: Dean and Bonnie Poulson (of Ephraim) Clark, met at Snow College, are renting in Ephraim.Husbands from Mt. Pleasant and attending Snow College are Ray and Dorothy Shephard (Mt. Pleasant) Blackham, rent in Mt. Pleasant, have one son, Ronnie Ray, 3 years.George Mac and Agnes Gillespie (from Ireland) Brown, own home in Mt. Pleasant, no children.James and Aria Carolyn Zabris-kie (of Mt. Pleasant) Christensen, own home in Mt. Pleasant, have one daughter, Terrie Kathryn, 6 months.Hayes and Vonda Hansen (of Ephraim) Draper, own home in Ephraim, no children.Robert and Beverly Anderson (of Mt. Pleasant) Olsen, met in High School, building home in Mt. Pleasant.Merril and Lila Garlick (of Fair-view) Seely, own home in Mt. Pleasant, have one son, Lloyd, 2 years.Newel and Elenor Nordstrom (of Mt. Pleasant) Shepard, own home in Mt. Pleasant, have one daughter, Bonnie, 2 years.Native sons of Ephraim attending Snow College are:Ernest and Ola Polk (from Arkansas) Dennison, met in Tennessee while he was in the Navy, living in Vets, quarters, have one son, Darnell, 4 months.Max and Genile Mary Christiansen (of Ephraim) Jorgenson, own home in Ephraim, have one daughter, Sheila Genile, 14 months.Roger and LaRue Tucker (of Fairview) Johnson, met in Richfield, are renting in Ephraim, have no children.Duaine and Ruth Olsen (of Ephraim) Larsen, was Snow romance, own home in Ephraim, have one son, Ned Dee, 14 months.Marlin H. and Thelma Axelson (of Manti) Larsen, are renting in Ephraim, have two children, Roland G., 15 years, and Jean Ann, 11 years.Ray and Thelma Danielson (of Manti) Lewis, own home in Ephraim, have two children.
