Instead, the equipment is moved to the mother. ”The medical center will also have facilities for young patients and the children of hospital employees. For the patients, there is a Child Life Play Room complete with games, toys, crafts, and a VCR. This allows young patients to spend a little time outside the hospital atmosphere. For the employees’ children, there is a child care center open 12 hours a day, six days a week for children from 6 to 12 years old.The new medical center will offer speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy; procedures such as balloon angioplasties and heart catherizations and advanced equipment such as a computer tomography scanner and a mobile magnetic resonance imaging unit.“I don’t believe there’s another hospital like it in the world,” William Johnston, president of the WMC Board of Directors, said. “I don’t think you can go and find in a community this size a hospital that has over 150 board-certifide specialists.”Winchester Planning Director Timothy Youmans said the new medical center will add to the city’s being a regional hub.“Whereas we’ve been a regional hub from a commerical standpoint, this will only go to strengthen us as an institutional hub for things such as medical services and offices,” he said.It’s quite a place.
