Exchange VowsNovember 25The wedding of Donna Skog, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Skog of Albert City, and Norman Kinkade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kinkade of Laurens, took place at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City Saturday, November 25, 1967, at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Donald L. Anderson performed the double-ring ceremony.Organ music was provided by Miss Hilvie Johnson, who also accompanied the soloist, Miss Beth Feller, friend of the bride, of Grundy Center. She sang “Song of Ruth” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with white altar flowers and baskets of yellow mums and bronze pom poms on the candelabras. Gold bows decorated the pews.The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white gown of lace and crepe. The slim sldrtof white crepe accented the Empire bodice of Alencon lace featuring a lowered neckline and long sleeves tapering to bridal points at the wrists. The Watteau train of crepe-bor-dered lace fell from the shoulders. Her tiered veil of illusion was held in place by a headpiece decorated with sequins and pearls. Miss Nancy n Skog, Des Moines, cousin of the bride, and Miss Cheryl ® Piercy, Harlan, cousin of the 0 groom, were bridesmaids. They wore floor - length Empiregowns with gold velvet bodices and crepe skirts, accented with a velvet bow and streamers in the back and matching shoes and headpieces. They carried bouquets of yellow and white pom poms. Miss Kristen Hurty of Boone was the bride’s personal attendant.Mr. Grant Shold, friend of 2 the groom, served as best man c and groomsmen were Mr. Mer- c lyn Bean and Mr. Kenneth Sievers, friends of the groom, \ all of Albert City. Ushers I were Mr. Gary Wenell, friend J of the groom, Mr. Rex Piercy, lt;cousin of the groom, Mr. \ Stuart Johnson, cousin of the 1 bride, and Mr. Stanley Ander- ] son, friend of the groom. The latter two also served as can- ^dlelighters.The mother of the bride ] wore a dark brown dress and ] the groom’s mother wore a ] royal blue dress. Both wore , corsages of yellow sweetheart j roses.Hosts and hostesses at the j reception which followed in 1 the Fellowship Hall were Mr. ] and Mrs. Wendell Skog, Albert lt;City, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Nor- ' man Piercy, Harlan, the groom’s uncle and aunt. Betty, Peggy end Sandra Skog, sisters of the bride, had charge of the guest book and favors. ;Punch was dipped by Mrs. Lambert Wallerick, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Robert Pecks, Sioux City, cousins of the bride and groom, respectively. Mrs. Chester Peterson, Minneapolis, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. O. W. Hilborn, Battle Creek, Iowa, aunt of the groom, poured coffee. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Wm. Johnson, Albert City, the bride’s aunt, and Mrs. Alfred Peterson, Battle Creek, the groom’s aunt.Waitresses were Joanne Lange, Veronica Wilbur, Chris Sorbe, Becky Shold, Susan Skog, Sandra Forsberg and Pam Benna. Gifts were opened and displayed by Judy Crotty, Clear Lake, Cathy Roberts, Jean Worthan and Becky Pew-sey, friends of the bride.For going away the bride wore a brown plaid wool suit and a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses.The couple live at 516 N. Dakota, No. 26, Terrace Park Trailer Court, Ames, Iowa, where they both attend Iowa State University.
