Airey became the .bride of Mr. Barry ' Russell Gee, only son of Mr. ‘ and Mrs. Ernest R. Gee of Neep-awa.The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. W. C. Irvine of iBrandon, assisted by Rev. H. Wilker, Rivers. Mrs. Irvine played the wedding music and Miss Bette Jean Niven of Brandon was soloist,The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor-length gown of white peau de i soie. The empire style waist A-line gown featured a scoop neckline. The bodice and long lily-point sleeves were enhanced with Chantilly lace appliques embroidered with seed pearls and crystal drops and was highlighted by a cathedral length train accented1 with Chantilly lace appliques. Her headpiece was a four-tier scalloped Swiss illusion veil held in place by a floral cluster of silk organza with peau de soie leaves,She carried a cascade of red sweetheart roses over a white Bible.Mrs. Denis Oahana was matron of honour. Misses Lois Airey and Darlene Airey, sisters of the bride, were bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid- They wore identical floor-length dresses ofRoyal blue velvet and blue peau peau de soie. The velvet bodices featured scoop necklines and bell sleeves. A Watteau train of velvet fell from a tailored bow on the back of each dress. They carried cascades of white shasta mums with yellow centres and wore ^matching headpieces.Rev. Sam Biro was best man and Mr. Bill Fraser was usher.The bride’s mother chose a cherry red two-piece double knit suit with beige accessories. Her corsage was white sweetheart roses tinted beige.The mother of the groom chose a green sheath dress of hammered satin with a sheer , matching overdress featuring full-length sleeves with a matching hat in autumn colors with black accessories. Her corsage was bronze pom poms.Mr. Victor Airey, uncle of the bride, proposed the toast to the bride,-at the reception held in the lower audiorium of the church.For travelling the bride chose a two-piece double knit suit of tea .blue, suede trim and black accessories. Her corsage was a white orchid.Following a wedding trip to British Columbia, western and central United States, Mr. and Mrs. Gee took up residence on the groom's farm at Neepawa.
