ANNIVERSARYMr. and Mrs. Edward Mitchell Were Remembered on Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary — Large Crowd Enjoy Festivities.• The Tribune received, too late for Monday’s paper the following account of ,.aii, Important event in the lives of two of our community’s well kfcown residents.Most of the day of Saturday, December 1, 191?, was an. enjoyable tlms for Mr. and Mrs, Edward Mitch-hit, living 1% miles southwest of Glcnwood, Oil that day more than lrnlf a hundred of relatives and friends gathered at the Mitchell home to enjoy and give cheer to two of Us occupants.Fifty years before, that is, on December 1, 186?, in Glenwood, the marriage of Edward Mitchell and Miss Margaret • Mlntle was solemnized.At the rioon hour a bountiful two-cpurse dinner was served. After' enjoying this repast the afternoon hours passed pleasantlyy with music and bonversation. Children and relatives jiad come from distant places to partake in this celebration.These honored and respected residents are true pioneers of Queen Mills, having resided withfn its borders for flfty-onfe years,A11 of their six children were fortunate enough to be present on this happy occasion. Two of these chil--dren, Miss En^ma Mitchell and Mrs. George Malcolm, reside in Glenwood arid vicinity. Mrs, C, W. Williams came from Lewiston, Neb., Mrs. James Malcolm from Watkins, Mont., Charles Mitchell from Winter set, la., and Mrs. Bei’tlia Mitchell from Council Bluffs. Others who came were C. W Williams, daughters Elsie, Hazel and Mary, Margaret and EdwardI rMitchell and Mrs. Walter Earle andbaby daughter.These celebrants wore the recipients of a number of presents, among wftlph were a, number of gold coins, two handsome rockers ahef variousother presents, j One incident that pleased was the presentation by the groom of a gold J band ring to his sweetheart;and wife of half a century.Before the visitors departed for their liomCB a group picture was taken of the family, which will no doubt be cherished ;tn an heirloom.
