MARK LEY-RI VERSMr. and Mrs. J. Boyd Rivers, who were married in San Antonio Wednesday morning, passed thru Rockdale on the Sunshine Special at noon of the same day when en route to Corsi-| cana to spend Thanksgiving Day with the groom’s relatives. The bride is the only daughter of a former Rockdalian, Mrs. Hattie Ghent Markley who now resides in Austin, Mrs. Rivers as Marion Mark-I ley, had scarce out-distanced the short frock and hair-beribboned age when attending school here, and her marriage will come as a pleasing surprise to her numerous friends. On moving to Austin she entered St. Mary’s Academy as an art student, thus gratifying an ambition to cultivate the original-talent displayed since childhood.I For some time friends had watched with growing interest her development into beautiful young womanhood and the tact and intelligence char-1 acteristic of her race was remarked I during her return visits, but with never a thought of bestowing upon her I the now popular title of “war bride.” I Miss Marion spent the vacation I with relatives at the Hot Wells Hotel. I It was there the twain seized upon the Thanksgiving holidays as an op-1 portune time for the happy de nou-l ment to a pretty romance among thel environments of grand old San Jose I Mission. ILieutenant Rivers has been a student at State University for two I years. He made application to enter! the first Officers Training Camp at I Leon Springs, receiving his commis-1 sion in August, and is now stationed I at Camp Travis. He took advantage I of a ten days furlough to become a I benedict, and he and bride are spend-1 ing the interval with relatives over the state. IThe Reporter unites with other I friends in wishing them great happi-1ness in their wedded life. I*
