iiKU’i'iiKii IN KliD, in CUlll[)a‘.:ywith Rev. Thos. Lane, attended the Sunday school meeting at Martha Russell Memorial Church near Fawling, I. T. On Saturday the congregations were small both in the day and at night. Sunday morning, notwithstanding the inclement weather, there was a fair attendance present. After some preliminary work had been done, it was decided to organize a Sunday School Convention forlt;lt;the Canadian district. Camp-*bell Russell was elected president and J, A, Reiger, vice-president; Mrs. F. E. Bradysecretary and treasurer. Anexecutive committee was elected composed of Messrs. Fisk, and Evans, J. A. Campbell and Mrs. Henry Lowery. Addresses were delivered by Brothers Lane, Reiger and this editor.This is the beginning of a movement that it is hoped may result in the awakening of an increased interestin the Sunday sohool work of that portion of the Cherokee Nation. The next meeting of the convention will be held next spring at some time and place to be designated by the executive committee. While in the neighborhood the editor and Brother Lane enjoyed the hospitality of Brother J. H. Shinn and his household, also of Brother Alberty. Saturday night we lodged at the comfortable mansion of Campbell Russell who had just arrived homefrom the Choctaw Nation with his bride, having been marriedto Miss Mamie Overstreet on Thanksgiving evening. It goes without saying that Ve fared well during our stay. Mrs. Kelly and her assistants having made ample and excellent provisions for bride and* groom and their visitors.
