OSSEO.Correspondence of the Standard.OsfeEO, Dec. 1, 1879. The genuine North Carolina jubileesingers (colored) were advertised to sing at the M. E. church in this place on Saturday evening last, but for some unknown reason failed to put in an appearance.Thanksgiving day passed off very quietly. In the evening services were held at the F. B. church, conducted byRev. S. C. Strickland.The dance at the hotel was rather slitnly attended, only 13 numbers beingsold.Mr. Thomas Tuttle, of Adams, was buried on Sunday last. Funeral services at the F. B. church, conducted by Rev. J. S. Harrington. The deceased was one of the first settlers of Hillsdale oounty, was a little over 90 years old, and was said to have been the oldest person, except one, in the county. He leaves many relatives andfriends. A large number of his old neighbors were in attendance at thefuneral.The marriage of Mr. Engeue Fuller and Miss May Newton, of this township, was solemuized on Thursday last by Rev. J. S. Harrington, at the residence of the bride’s parents.A literary society is beiug organized in this place with Mr. N. Clark as president. This is a move in the right direction. •Evening meetings are still in pro- 1 gress at the M. E church and'good results are anticipated in this effort.
