G. K Varner of Charleston, South Caro- Cl lina, in the Hilltop Lutheran Bi Church in Columbus, O. The altar, Si banked with palms, smilax, and to white gladioli, was lighted by two blt; seven-branch candelbra. BMusic was presented by Charles, bi Bartel, organist, and Miss Mary: ^ Cooper, soloist, who sang “On, C( Promise Me” and I Love You Truly.” alMrs. Casper Padgett, the bride's ^ only attendant, wore a frock otj pink chiffon with a full skirt and snug bodice. She preceded the bride to the altar, carrying an arm bouquet ct pink roses, baby breath and gladioli.The biide, whose brother, Malcolm, gave her in marriage, wore j a gown of brocaded white chiffon velvet, the full skirt sweeping p into a modified train. Her finger y tip circular veil fell from a Juliet p cap of seed pearls. In her hands y she carried a white prayer book p; from which fell white streamers. ^ knotted with valley lilies, and a p gardenia corsage on top of the ^ prayer book, a gift from the p bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and p Mrs. Frank Dunnett. IMr. Casper Padgett was best man. Hartford Dunnett, Donald;! Campbell and Wallace McDonald were ushers.Mrs. Lalla Dunnett, mother of ri the bride, wore a lavender lacr-ia dress with black accessories, ana a corsage of pink roses and baby 1 breath. !nMiss Nookie Varner, sister of the 1 bridegroom, wore a blue crepe f suit dress wdth a shoulder corsage of red roses.Following the ceremony, which|( was read by Rev. Carveth Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Bernhardt Swisher, i sister and brother-in-law of the ^ bride, entertained with a reception f at their home, on Hilltop. tMr. and Mrs. Varner wdll makej'; their home in Charleston, South Carolina, where Mr. Varner is employed in the Navy Yard offices.Mrs. Varner is a former Glouster resident, graduated from Glouster High School with the class of 1937, and w'ent to Columbus tw'o years ago where she has been employed with the Bell Telephone Company.Attending the wedding from this vicinity were Mrs. Lalla Dunnett, Mrs Alfred Andrews and daughter. Miss Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. Hartford Dunnett and children, this citv; and Mrs. C. M. Ashworth and daughter Mary Helen, and Miss Myrta Ashworth, of Athens.
