Hayward Home For NewlywedsFollowing their wedding at Santa Clara Church in Oxnard, Mr and Mrs John Aurelio Pontes are at home in Hayward The Rev Roddy Guerrini performed the ceremony The bride, the former Rebecca Marie Jimenez, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Stephen P Jimenez Jr of Oxnard She is a 1972 alumna of Santa Clara High School and a 1976 graduate of California State University. San Jose, w here she earned a R S degree in business administration The groom, son of Mr and. Mrs Jooo Fontes of Terceira, Azores. Portugal, is also a graduate of CSUSJ. He received his B A degree in political science in 1974 and his master’s from the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix. Ariz in 1976 He is working for Armour and Co in San Francisco For her wedding, the bride wore a gown of white satin w ith a scooped neck, fitted bodice, long, buttoned sleeves and buttoned back Her A-line skirt was attached to a cathedral train Alencon lace and seed pearls accented the neckline, bodice, sleeves and hem Her fingertip veil was tnmmed with matching scalloped lace and held in place by a lace band, trimmed with a row of seed pearls and pearlflowerettes She carried a bouquet of rhubrum lilies, leather fern and a handkerchief from Portugal Miss Kathleen Powell of Oxnard w as maid of honor She wore a pink and white dotted Swiss A-line dress It had a flounced skirt and bolero jacket. She wore a pink picture hat with pink grosgrain streamers and pink flowers on the back of the crown Her flowers were pink long stemmed roses, baby’s breath and leather fern with a pink bow and streamers.Identically dressed except for white hats were bridesmaids, the Mmes David York, the bride’s cousin; Paul Olivares, the Misses Michele and Laura Jimenez, the bride's sisters All are of Oxnard Jose Fontes. the groom’s brother of Manteca, was best manStephen P Jimenez III of Oxnard, the bride’s brother, was ring bearer Ushers were Anthony Moya, the bride’s unde of Oxnard. Jose Sousa of New York City, Jorge Gonzales of San Jose and John (’onto, the groom's cousin of Turlock Mr and Mrs Andy Dominguez and Mrs Carol Herrera, all of Oxnard, were soloists. Mrs Trudy Hayes of Oxnard was organist A reception and dance for the couple was held at Oxnard KlksMR. AND MRS. JOHN AURELIO FONTESIxxlge Mariachi Rejionales de Mexico played at the reception. Estrada Brothers at the dance Mrs Bill Chapin of Camarillo was guest book attendant Mrs Joe Perez, the bride’s aunt of Manhattan Beach, and Mrs Tony Duenas. the bride’s godmother of Bellflower.helped cut the cake The. wedding cake was made and decorated by the bride's grandparents.
