An announcement card addressed to the writer reads as follows: “Mr. and Mrs. Bailey Thomas Phelps announce the marriage of their daughter, Martha Blanche, to Mr. Creed Brown Johnson, Sunday, August 22, 1915, Natchitoches, La. At home, Hammond, La.” The bride was formerly a teacher in Benton High School, and has the well wishes of many lasting friends made while a resident of our town.
