Six Years of Uncertainty Ends hr Shalimar Womanthe todtes of their men would be returned•MIA List on Page 2AFrom Wirt ReportsA Shalimar woman had six years of waiting, wondering and uncertainty erased Thursday when military officials informed her that the remains of her husband killed in Vietnam would be returned tothis countrv for burialMrs Nita Bates, the widow of Capt Dennis E Wilkinson before her remarriage last year, said Thursday ‘it’s good to have him coming home ... to know for sure that he did die in the war ”Mrs. Bates, a research analyst at Eglin Air Force Base, was one of eight families notified Thursday thatCapt Wilkinson had been reported missing in action some six years ago, leaving her with two small children Capt Wilkinson’s remains, along with seven other GIs, will be turned over Saturday to a U S Congressional delegation now in Vietnam Three of the eight identifications were listed as “presumed ” The identifications of Wilkinson and four others are reported“positive.”“It’s comforting to know our government is still working to get the guys home,” Mrs. Bates said Mrs. Bates said she did not change the names of her children Douglas, now 9. and Carie, 7, from W ilkinsonHer present husband was a widower she said, “so he's been through it too ’*Although she long since had resigned herself to the death of her first husband.
