Y., Saturday, August 22, united in marriage Miss Mary Tncresc Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Roberts of Rome, and Lieutenant Ben Bernard Hoskins, son of Mrs. Pattie J. Hoskins of Olin and BenB. Hoskins of High Point.The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John J. Burke, assistant pastor of the church. Processional and recessional were played by Miss Barbara Wilson. After the wedding ’•fhe bride’s parents gave a reception at Richard’s Ranch.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a dress of white embroidered organdy, which had an oval neckline trimnied with rosettes, short shirred sleeves and a double-tiered skirt of ankle length. Her hand-rolled veil of French illusion was caught to a cloche of embroidered organdy, trimmed with illusion and lilies of the val iftey- She wore short nylon gloves and carried a bouquet of ivy and stephanotis .The bride’s attendants were Mrs. William K. O’Connor of Rome, matron of honor, and Mrs. Frank Marsden of Ilion, N. Y., bridesmaid. They wore identical dresses or pale ycnow dotted Swiss over glazed enambray, designed with V-i.ccKimc anu smrrcd siecves. S. degree at North Carolina Stale College, Raleigh. A lieutenant in the United States Air Force, he is stationed at New Castle County Air Port in . Wilmington, Del.Attending the wedding from Statesville were the bride groom’s mother, Mrs. Pattie Hoskins, and his siser, Mrs. Charles C. Lynn of Statesville.Allman Reunion Held At ElmwoodMembers of the family of Mrs. H. D. Buckner gathered at the homo of' Mr. and Mrs. William Thompson at Elmwood Sunday for the annual Allman reunion, held the fourth Sunday in August. Mrs. Buckner is the former Oria Soe Allman, and Mrs. Thompson is her daughter.About 70 relatives from Asheville,- Marion, Washington, D. This event will benefit North Carolina Children’s Home Socieiy, a state Junior Woman’s Club project.Ramsey’s will present a revue of the*latest in fall fashion.. These will be moaetcd by Service League members as follows: Mrs.C. M. Adams, Jr., Mrs. C. W, Applewhite, Mrs. Fred Chamblee, Mrs. Bill Jones, Miss Maragret Ann Kyles, Mrs. Rowe McNeely, Miss N'ita Shaw, Mrs. Stanley Su-ther, Mrs. Glenn Westmoreland and Mrs. Dwight Harmon. The show is under the direction of M, E. Ramsey, III, who will also give a comprehensive commentary.Following the fashion show brid ge and canasta will be played. Refreshments will be served anc there will be special features. Tickets may be purchased from any Service League member or on the second floor at Ramsey’s. Admission is 75 cents for the fashior show only or $1 for the entire party.Michigan Dinner For Bridal PairMr. and Mrs. Robert L. Henry who were married in Holy Trinity Lutheran church, Troutman, or August 3. stoppe off in Detroit oi their wedding trip and while therlt; were honored at a dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. J. L, Collins of Detroit, formerly at Statesville.Guests, with the honored coupli were Mr. and Mrs. Elwood R. Sut ter and their daughter, Cheryl Ann of Detroit. Mrs. Sutter is a sis ter of Mrs. Henry.The dinner, at the famous A Green’s Old Fashinoned Roalt; House Diner in Grosse Point, Micl igan, was served in four course and the dessert of baked Alask: was topped with a single candle indicating the couple’s first weel of married life.
