SHARPAugust 21,—A week of very hot,dry weather has passed, leaving the people rather the worse for wear. Cotton is being picked, but has not opened up very well yet, as only forty-four bales were ginned hereduring the past week.Mr. August Garlich left last week for New York where he goes to meet his fiance. Mr. Garlich was in Germany a short time before the wTar and met this young lady and a romance began at once. They will be married immediately upon her arrival and will make this their home.
