Lunch and fellowship followed in the hall.The Isabella community extends its deepest sympathy to Doug Heise, Harvey and Cathy Heise and family, Ron and Glenda Lawn and family, Lorelle and Fraser Farley and family and Martin and Marlene Heise and family on the loss of Shirley, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. As well sympathy is extended to the extended families - the Schweitzers and the Heises. Shirley was a long time supporter of the Isabella community with food and work in our community. Many from the community attended the funeral service held at the Hami-ota United Church on Aug. 14. The Isabella community women were pleased to serve lunch to the large crowd at the Hamiota Community Hall.A beautiful sunny day saw a large crowd gather on the lawn of Kendall and Angie Heise to witness the vows of Karina Heise and Kyle Winters. Guests from a distance were Barb Heise, Brent Javra and children Raelyn and Callia, Germany; Alana Heise and Jeff Neilson and John and Merle Heise, Calgary; Sieg, Deedrian, Makenzee and Zack Taylor, Kelseyville, CA; Regina Taylor, Lincoln, CA; Adele Heise, Brian McConkey, with Michelle, Laura and Ian, Swift Current; Don and Sandra Armitage, Brooks, AB; Cam and Louise Bridgeman, Coaldale, AB; Col-len and Darcy Wolframe, Ke-nora, ON; Brad, Jill and Jeff Perkins, Abbortsford, BC; Darlene Winters and Ron Gillis, Dryden ON; Scott and Kim McDonald. Drvden ON: andRobin Taylor, Norway.Fifty people attended the information session and crop variety tour held at Isabella on Aug. 14 at the Community Hall. The event began with everyone enjoying lunch. The event was co-sponsored by WADO (Western Agricultural Development Organization) and Ducks Unlimited. MAFRi (Manitoba Agricultural, Food and Rural Development Initiative) staff organized the event highlighting new developments in crop scouting, recent crop production concerns and new variety plots. Following lunch, information was given on winter wheat production, hybrid fall rye, research results from WADO and the use of UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles) for crop scouting. We were able to view images and video captured by the two UAVs earlier in the day. This was followed by a flight demonstration outside the hall. Afterward the tour moved to the MCVET (Manitoba crop variety evaluation trials) and WADO plot sites where plant breeders and industry reps spoke about different crops (wheat, winter wheat, oats, barley, flax, peas, lentils and soy beans). There was also discussion regarding the relevant disease and insect issues for each crop. This was an excellent event organized by Elmer Kaskiw and Amir Farooq.Sympathy is extended to the family of Sheila Cooper who passed away at Dauphin. Sheila was a valued member of our Isabella United Church and UCW for many years as well as participating in hall and rink activities with her girls, Cathy and Georeeanne. Services were
